PROJECT SNAPSHOT: ALASKA CONSTRUCTION REBRAND

Alaska is a New Zealand heavyweight; the go-to for high-profile construction and interior fit-outs for over two decades. However, the market had shifted. Aggressive up-and-comers were beginning to out-pitch them with tenders that felt more exciting, modern, and design-forward. Alaska had become the establishment, and while their track record was undeniable, their brand was starting to feel like a legacy player in a high-speed industry.

The strategy was to reclaim the premium ground by moving the conversation from what they build to how they care. In the high-stakes world of commercial fit-outs, every competitor claims a 100% proven track record, but few can claim true skin in the game. We realised that clients weren't just looking for a builder; they were looking for a partner who cared about the finish line as much as they did. The ‘Why’ was about shifting Alaska from a reliable contractor to an obsessive partner; the one who is best dressed, on time, and cares passionately beyond the handover.

We conducted a nationwide audit, interviewing staff and customers to find the brand’s true north. This led to a complete strategic overhaul and a total redesign of the brand identity and digital presence. We stripped away the corporate establishment feel and replaced it with a sleek, high-end aesthetic that matched the calibre of their work. With the new endline Built on Trust, we repositioned Alaska as the modern authority; a brand that combines 20 years of certainty with a contemporary, obsessive focus on the outcome.
