Rebel Sport is a NZ retail icon, but the brand had become synonymous with the ‘price and product’ cycle. The challenge was to move beyond the transaction and start inspiring the athlete within. We shifted the strategy from functional retail to emotional storytelling, celebrating the grit, the early mornings, and the resilience it takes to play. By humanising the retail giant and focusing on the why of sport rather than just the what, we turned a destination for gear into a source of national inspiration, proving that even the biggest players need a soul to stay ahead.
